Holiness is impossible without the Holy Spirit.
The flesh cannot conquer the flesh.
In (John 1:29-33) John the Baptist said that he baptized with water but the one who comes after him would baptize with the Holy Spirit.
Water baptism is an outward sign of an inner decision to follow Jesus and surrender your life to Him. It signifies the burial of the old life and the resurrection of the new.
The baptism of John was a baptism of repentance, turning away from sin and living a new life.
The power of a true Believer comes from the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
After you are filled with Holy Spirit, you will find the true desire to do God's will and the power to do it right. Without the Holy Spirit, your desire to serve God will not be strong enough to carry you through the hard parts of obedience.
The Holy Spirit helps strengthens your loyalty and commitment to follow Gods commands, even though it sound strange. Remember you can't do anything on your own strength, it only take the Grace of God to see things through.
(Acts 10:38) You know about Jesus of Nazareth and how God poured out on him the Holy Spirit and power. He went everywhere, doing good and healing all who were under the power of the Devil, for God was with him.
Jesus was immersed not only in water but also in the Holy Spirit. In other words, He was immersed in power which enabled Him to do the task His Father sent Him to do.
The Holy Spirit is the only one that strengthens a true believer beyond his or her  power to accomplish the impossible.
Before Jesus public ministry began, He was anointed with power and was filled with the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, only then are we truly equipped for the service of the kingdom of God because we are able to draw on the power, ability, efficiency and might of the Holy Spirit. When He comes dwells in us only then are we able to receive the power to do the will of God.
(Acts 1:8) But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, and you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
