The whole secret of prevailing prayer that gets the attention of heaven, is found in four phrases. "WITHOUT CEASING, OF THE CHURCH, UNTO GOD and FOR HIM.
"UNTO GOD"
This is the most important phrase of them all. " Unto God." Though someone may ask, "But I thought all prayers are offered unto the Lord?" No! Comparatively very few of the prayers this days are really offered unto God.
The prayer of a sinner is an abomination before God. You have to get it right with the Holy spirit before coming into God's presence, because the lord God Almighty only speaks to you through the power of the Holy spirit who intercedes and mediates on your behalf. If you heart is sinful and unclean, he can't dwell in it. Remember your body is the temple of the Holy spirit and he can't dwell in a sinful body. If the Holy spirit can't dwell within you, how can he intercede and mediate on your behalf. You need to keep away from sin so your body can be perfectly clean for him to come in before you can be able to come into the presence of God.
Most Christians have full knowledge of the word of God, they can narrate & explain it perfectly, but their lifestyle tells a different tales.
Repentance is more than feeling sorry and remorse for your sin or being afraid of its penalty. It’s about being disgusted by what disgusts God, hating what he hates. Repentance brings us back on one accord with God. A change in behavior begins with a change in the heart. Repentance brings change, peace only comes through obedience. Repentance doesn’t mean anything if you keep doing what you’re sorry for.
If there is to be any power in our prayers, if our prayers is to be effective, first we need to be sure that we are truly on one accord with God and that we are actually in his presence to communicating with him through the Holy spirit, remember the Holy spirit does not dwell in a sinful heart. You really need to realize that prayer is having an audience with the Lord God Almighty and before you can do so, you need to come to his presence in truth and in spirit. Prayer should not be a mere duty, let it be one of the greatest privileges you ever had.
"YOU HAVE NOT BECAUSE YOU ASKED NOT"

"Why is it," many Christians are asking that they make such poor progress in their lives? Why do they have little to no victory over sin? Why do they win few to none souls for the kingdom of God? How can you be sure that you have come into the presence of the Lord, how can you tell that you're really talking to him?
No one on earth can come into the presence of God on the ground of any merit of his own, not for one moment, nor depend on his goodness to obtain anything, not even the smallest blessing.
The vilest sinner who ever walked this earth, that genuinely turned from his sin and fully accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, trust in the shed blood as the ground of his acceptance before God, can come into the presence of God anytime any day with perfect boldness.
Oh, let those two words, "Unto God," sink deeply into your heart; make sure to always have a clear, honest and genuine motives before coming into his presence or you are just wasting your time.

Pray with intense earnestness. Let us consider the phrase used in the (Acts. 12:5) "WITHOUT CEASING."
The Greek word here is "ektenos," and it means "STRETCHED-OUT-EDLY." It represent the soul stretched out in earnestness towards God. It is the intensely earnest prayer to which God pays attention to and answers. This example comes up again and again in the Bible. In ( Jer. 29:5) "Ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
"OF THE CHURCH"
The prayer that God particularly delights to answer is united prayers. There is power in prayer of a single individual and the power of individual has wrought great things, but there is far greater power in united prayer.
"Again I say unto you if two or more of you shall agree on anything, it shall be done."
When God by his holy spirit, put the same burden on two or more hearts and they come in unity with the Holy spirit, with one voice in Truth and in faith, there is no power enough on earth or hell that can keep them from getting it.
"FOR HIM"
Definite prayer. Oh how general and vague many of our prayers are. They are pretty, they sound nice to the ear and are charmingly phrased, but they ask no definite or specific thing and they get no definite or specific answer.
When you pray to God, always have a definite and clear-cut idea of just exactly what it is you want from him; always ask God for that definite and specific thing your heart really desire;
God the Father only answers prayers which comes from that ground of the cleansing blood of God the son, under the direction and anointing power of God the Holy spirit.
Prayer is the fastest way to get God's attention. In fact its the most effective way for any Christian to have an audience with the king of glory. That is to say, we can often bring more to pass through prayer, than any other form of effort we might put fourth in or out of the church. Effective plus unceasing praying lifestyle should be any true Christian hardest and most necessary work here on earth.
