It’s been said before; no matter how spiritually mature you are, you must be vulnerable to something. The one common thing we all are vulnerable to is temptation. you can’t outgrow it. When you overcome temptation on one front it attacks you from another side.
As Christians, the closer we get to God the more we will be tempted. Paul explains it this way: the sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the spirited wants (Galatians 5:17).
These two forces are constantly fighting each other.
Every change in human attitude must come through internal understanding and acceptance. So why don’t you call on God more often? Is it because sometimes you just want to do what you want, or you are embarrassed because you keep giving in to the same temptations. Don’t be discouraged because God will not give up on you.
For he said call on to me in time of trouble and I will rescue you (psalm 50:15).
Let us come before God’s throne where we will receive grace to help us when we need it (Hebrew 4:16).
